шрифты TrueTypeформат ( font format) и набор масштабируемых контурных экранных и принтерных шрифтов и технология их создания, разработанная в 1991 г. фирмой Apple Computer и лицензированная корпорацией Microsoft. Содержит описания символов в иерархическом наборе таблиц. Используется в операционных системах System 7 (и более новых) и MS Windows, однако шрифты этого типа имеют небольшие различия для платформ Windows и Мас, не допускающие их использования на противоположной платформе. На большинстве принтеров не требует специальных шрифтовых картриджей. Обеспечивает вид печатаемого документа, адекватный его виду на экране.
